McPETRIE, Dorothy Burns (Rae)

On April 18, 2008, in London, Ontario, just short of her 98th birthday after a long and fulfilling life. Born in Burlington Ontario, she was the only daughter of the late Elizabeth and John Rae. Beloved wife of the late Francis J. ''Peter'' McPetrie. Predeceased by her brothers, Donald Rae (Dorothy), Mississauga and Edgar Rae (Emma), Ottawa and sister-in law Elizabeth ''Betty'' Matheson (Murdoch ''Bud''), London, and nephew, Eugene Rae, Toronto. Fondly remembered by her nieces Nancy Rae, Edmonton, Penny Keyes (Bob), Ottawa, and Susan Garrington (Brian), Cathy Ellefsen (David), her grandnieces Cathy Brophy (David), Jacqueline and Julie Ellefsen and great grandnephew Daniel Brophy, all of London, Ontario. Remembered also by her cousins and many friends. During her life, Dorothy pursued her interests in painting (founding member of the Lambeth Art Society), travel, gardening, music and sports. A celebration of Dorothy's life will be held at Lambeth United Church, 4268 Colonel Talbot Road, London on Friday, July 18, 2008 at 11:00 am. Arrangements entrusted to A. Millard George Funeral Home, London, (519-433-5184). In lieu of flowers, donations to the London Humane Society, London Public Library (Byron branch), or the Outreach Program at Lambeth United Church would be appreciated.
